Welcome home! As a Brookfield resident you will be sharing about 20 square miles with around 16,500 residents. Incorporated in 1788, originally comprised of parts of Danbury, New Milford and New Fairfield. The town may have been named after from the Rev. Thomas Brooks; he lead the first established parish of Newbury, Congregational Church which became the center of town.

Located in Northern Fairfield county, the town is bordered by two lakes, Candlewood Lake on the west and Lake Lillinonah on the east. They make summer a beautiful time in Brookfield. The town beach is located off of Candlewood lake. You can swim, fish and boat on the lake, you can even rent a boat for the day and enjoy water activities. If you can't get enough of the lakes, consider a home with lake frontage or in a beach community. It might be more affordable than you realize. Brookfield also has several town parks and trails for your enjoyment including a recently built Still River Greenway, a two mile trail for hiking, biking and dog walking.

The four corners section of Brookfield is undergoing a major transformation, stay tuned for updates.
